Hurvin Anderson was born in Birmingham in 1965 and trained as a painter at the Wimbledon College of Art (1991-94) and at the Royal College of Art (1996-98).

He has exhibited in many solo shows including Anthony Meier Fine Art in San Francisco, Dulwich Picture Gallery in London and David Risley Gallery in London. Group shows have included an exhibition at Camden Arts Centre in 2006 and at Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol in 1999.
